Inside the making of “Afterglow”
A first idea, a late-night demo, and the details that turned a small loop into a finished song.

“Afterglow” started with a voice memo recorded long after midnight. There was only a melody, a loose rhythm, and a line I couldn’t stop repeating. The finished track grew slowly from that small beginning.
From loop to song
For weeks the demo lived as a four-bar loop. I kept adding things and taking them away again: a guitar that sounded too polite, a drum machine that felt too sure of itself. What survived was the pulse, a low and restless heartbeat that sits under everything.
Keeping the rough edges
The vocal on the record is the third take from the first proper session. It cracks in two places. We tried to fix them and every fix made it sound like someone else, so the cracks stayed. That is the song now.
